Michael C. Hall is making his return as the fan favorite serial killer! The upcoming Dexter revival show debuts its first teaser trailer, and it’s taking us back to basics.
Showtime crime drama Dexter debuted in 2006 and it ran for eight seasons before its finale in 2013. But fans were deeply unsatisfied with the show’s finale, and their passion made a revival happen. Almost eight years later, Dexter is going back to his old ways.
Dexter will be returning on Showtime with a 10-part season, and the network hopes it will satisfy their faithful watchers. This was just an idea, until now, as Dexter debuts the first teaser for the revival!
The teaser kicks off with the camera showing an axe embedded in a piece of tree trunk outside in nature. There also seems to be a fire smoldering in the background. Then, almost at the end of the 10-seconds teaser, captioned “Nature is calling,” Michael’s Dexter can be heard saying: “There really is nothing like getting back to nature. My nature.”

The teaser is a nod to the previous series finale, in which Dexter faked his own death and escaped authorities, later becoming a lumberjack in the woods.
Dexter will be released sometime this fall on Showtime.
