Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver are now single, as their divorce is finalized. The couple split up in 2011, and now it’s all legal.
Shriver filed for divorce in 2011 after 25 years of marriage. That was two months after the Terminator actor publicly admitted to having an affair with the family’s longtime housekeeper, Mildred Baena. On top of that, he fathered his son Joseph Baena.
Schwarzenegger has been very present in all his five children’s lives, and his granddaughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt‘s daughter, Lyla Maria. The two are currently expecting baby number two.
The actor and Shriver have remained in good relations for their children’s sake. Last year, she was even part of his birthday party. Their son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, shared a picture on Instagram where the family is together, and they’re smiling at the camera.
When the couple split in 2011, they shared in a statement that their four kids are “the light and the center of both of our lives. This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us. After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision together.”
