Dramione is one of the strongest Harry Potter ships, but in real life, Emma Watson really fell in love with Tom Felton. And she talked about it during the new Harry Potter reunion.

Ships are a huge part of any fandom. Some love them, some hate the idea of it. But, nevertheless, they exist, so ignoring them would do no good.

Dramione, the pairing between Draco and Hermione, is one of the biggest ships in the fandom. Be it because everyone loves a bad boy or a redemption story, a lot think the two would make a great fit. After the events of the last book, obviously.

But, while Dramione will never be a sailing ship (slang for a real pairing), in reality, things were slightly different. Although Hermione might never go for Draco, Emma Watson did fall in love with Tom Felton.

While it’s hardly a secret to Potterheads, the actress explained how it all happened. “I walked into the room where we were having tutoring,” she explained. “The assignment that had been given was to draw what you thought God looked like, and Tom had drawn a girl with a backward cap on a skateboard. And I just don’t know how to say it — I just fell in love with him.”

She added: “I used to come in every day and look for his number on the call sheet, it was number seven, and if his name was on the call sheet, it was an extra exciting day. He was three years above me and so for him, he was like, ‘you’re like my little sister.’”

Felton also reportedly knew about her crush. Unfortunately for Emma, the two never became an item. He said: “I think I was in the hair and make-up chair, and someone said something along the lines of, ‘she had a crush on you.” Which made him become very protective of her. “I have always had a soft spot for her and that continues to this day. There always been something that’s like, I don’t know a kinship.”

The two have a very close friendship, and admitted they love each other deeply. However, Watson cleared things that they were never romantically involved.

During the reunion episode (you can read the review here), Daniel Radcliffe also revealed he and Watson used to help each other with their crushes.

“The amount of prep and coaching Emma and I would give each other on texting to the opposite sex. “Like if she was texting a boy or I was texting a girl, I’d be like, ‘She sent me this many kisses back, what do I do? This is a nightmare.”
