Camila Cabello‘s upcoming song, “Bam Bam,” is set to premiere on Friday, but is it a breakup song about Shawn Mendes? One might think so.
Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes had been friends for years before finally getting together. The Cuban singer had reportedly been the inspiration of Mendes’ songs for years before dating. And when they did get together, after the release of their collaboration song, “Senorita,” they were very much in love. With a lot of PDA.
But after a two-year relationship, they called it quits. The two shocked everyone last November when they took it to social media with their statements about the breakup.
However, neither commented on the reason of their breakup. Multiple sources claimed the relationship ran its course, and they continued to be friends. In fact, they even stepped out for a walk together not long ago. And Shawn is still liking Camila’s pics. Despite his breakup song, “It’ll Be Okay.”
Now Camila Cabello’s upcoming song seems to be a breakup song for him, as well. The song, called “Bam Bam,” will be a collaboration with Ed Sheeran, and it’ll be out on Friday.
But the lyrics do suggest hinting some heartbreak, especially with the: “You said you hated the ocean but you’re surfing now / I said I love you for life but I just sold our house.
“We were kids at the start, I guess we’re grown-ups now. Couldn’t ever imagine even having doubts / But not everything works out.
“Now I’m out dancing with strangers, you could be casually dating / Damn, it’s all changing so fast.”
The chorus of the new song includes: “Love came around and it knocked me down but I’m back on my feet.”
Obviously, they will probably never confirm or deny whether it’s a breakup song for each other. But the lyrics speak for themselves.
