Taylor Swift finally performed “Exile” live for the first time at a Bon Iver concert in London, UK, at the Wembley arena. She gave so many signs.
On October 25, Taylor Swift gave “so many signs” about “Exile” when she premiered her music video for “Bejeweled.” On two different occasions, we noticed the song’s name, which is part of her 2020 album, Folklore. And, since the era happened during the pandemic, we didn’t get a chance to see her perform live. Until now.
Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance and sung “Exile” live during Bon Iver’s concert in London, UK, on Wednesday, October 26.
She wore a black dress for her first return to the stage, perfectly harmonizing with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon. As Swifties may know, the band was one of Taylor’s favorites and her Folklore album only paved the road for further collaboration.
Besides Vernon, for “Exile,” Swift’s boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, also collaborated for the song and piano, which scored him a Grammy Award.
Vernon and Swift also collaborated for the second album for Big Red Machine, Vernon’s side project with Aaron Dessner and Anais Mitchell. The collaborations included two songs, “Birch” and “Renegade.”
Dessner, who has been collaborating with Swift since Folklore, shared about their initial start, “One night I was just sitting at dinner,” Dessner recalled, “and I got a text saying, ‘This is Taylor. Would you ever be up for collaborating remotely with me?’
“I was flattered and said, ‘Sure,’” he continued. “She said, ‘Just send anything, even the weirdest random sketch that you have,’ and I sent her a folder of stuff I’d been working on. And then a few hours later, she sent that song, ‘Cardigan.’”
