Fans have been waiting for Taylor Swift to announce her upcoming re-recorded album and she finally has. During the first show in Nashville from her ongoing concert tour, the Eras Tour, Taylor Swift announced Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) on May 5, 2023.

And it’s not a big surprise. Because she has been heavily hinting at it.

We have discussed all the Easter Eggs in her “Lavender Haze” music video. The purple theme and the koi pond fish (which she used on her guitar during the Speak Now tour. Plus, she had a 13 in front of Nashville, which is where she announced it. There were also several hints in the previous music video, the one for “Bejeweled.”

Taylor announced that Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) will drop on July 7, “just in time for July 9th.” If you’re not a Swiftie, that’s a direct reference to one of the lyrics in her song “Last Kiss.” There she sings “that July 9th, the beat of your heart.” Fans online also discovered that July 7 is also the National Koi Fish day. Because that’s who Taylor is.

In the message announcing the album, she wrote on a purple background, “I always looked at this album as my album, and the lump in my throat expands to a quivering voice as I say this. Thanks to you, dear reader, it finally will be.”

Swift added, “I consider this music to be, along with your faith in me, the best thing that’s ever been mine. Yours, Taylor.”

In the caption of the announcement, she wrote: “It fills me with such pride and joy to announce that my version of Speak Now will be out July 7 (just in time for July 9th, iykyk 😆)

Taylor added, “I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20. The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness. I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing … and living to speak about it. With six extra songs I’ve sprung loose from the vault, I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) with you on July 7th.
