Taylor Swift is breaking records again as she becomes the first female winner of Global Icon at Brit Awards. The ceremony is taking place tonight, May 11, in London at The O2.
Taylor Swift is all about breaking records. This one is no small feat though. Taylor Swift will become the first female artist to win the global icon Brit award during the ceremony tonight.
According to the organizers of the award, she receives recognition for “her immense impact on music across the world and incredible repertoire and achievements to date.”
“Taylor’s career is unparalleled and her music and influence has resonated with millions of people all over the world,” the Brit award statement said.
“She’s used her platform to highlight many issues globally and recently has been applauded for her work promoting acceptance of the LGBTQ community.”
Taylor is also nominated in the international female solo artist category, marking her sixth Brit award nomination to date.
Former recipients of the global icon award include Sir Elton John, Robbie Williams (with whom she sang a duet of “Angels” during her Reputation Stadium Tour) and David Bowie.
And how can that be wrong? Ever since her reputation album in 2018, she has been breaking her own records.
Taylor is currently re-recording her albums. Her sneak peak on Instagram at her outfit tonight is also a subtle nod at what might come next for her.
Currently, she has released Fearless (Taylor’s Version), and fans (and myself) are waiting impatiently for what might come next.
So, as I was saying, her outfit, which seems to be a two piece top and skirt, maybe?, is 100% her 1989 era. But then comes her hair, which screams Red era.
Can Taylor Swift come to the phone and tell us what comes next?
