HBO Max has just announced the Friends Reunion premiere date. The six stars of the beloved sitcoms will return on our small screen on May 27th.
Friends ran for 10 seasons on NBC from 1994 to 2004. And yes, 2004 is so far away, but Friends has always remained a constant, both for the people who watched it then, or for new fans who are just discovering it.
Friends focuses on the life of six, well, friends, who mostly hang out in a coffee house named Central Perk and discuss their lives. Starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer, Friends became a massive phenomenon.
Even today, the six actors receive major paychecks due to their involvement in the show.
But even though it ended 17 years ago, people are not over it. Or under it.
Fans have been requesting a sequel for ages, but creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman don’t feel like the characters have other story to tell. But given its status, the creators have done the next best thing: a Friends reunion.
The reunion was supposed to happen in May 2020. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they couldn’t go back and film it.

The stars returned to film it a few weeks ago, and it looks like it’s ready to go already.
The teaser trailer doesn’t show much, just the backs of the six actors. However, it draws a parallel to one of the show’s old posters.
HBO Max just announced that the Friends Reunion premiere date would be on May 27th. Could I BE more excited?
But there’s more to it. The show will also have a lot of guest stars, including Maggie Wheeler, who played Janice. James Michael Tyler will also come back, who played Gunther. Besides her, big names will star like David Beckham (who is a massive Friends fan), Lady Gaga, Mindy Kaling and more others!
