Adele has had a long break from music, but she’s also been through different emotional things. Like her divorce. This gives us hope that the “Hello” singer will release heartbreaking material.

In her interview with British Vogue, the singer admitted the new album would focus on her divorce, but it would be more of an explanation for her son.

But in her Instagram message, Adele further explained her writing process: “I was certainly nowhere near where I’d hoped to be when I first started it nearly 3 years ago. Quite the opposite, actually. I rely on routine and consistency to feel safe, I always have. And there I was knowingly – willingly even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil.”

Talking about her album, she said she’s “finally ready” to release it, calling it her “ride or die throughout the most turbulent period of my life.”

She also compared her album to a friend, who is there for you, “with a bottle of wine and a takeaway,” but also a “wise friend who always gives the best advice.” But it was also the friend “who’s wild,” the one “who’d stay up all night and just hold my hand while I’d sob relentlessly not knowing why.”

At the end of her message, Adele writes “home is where the heart is,” and we can’t be more excited to hear the album.

Adele revealed that the release date for 30 is November 19. The announcement makes sense taking into account that Taylor Swift just announced she’s dropping Red (Taylor’s Version) one week earlier (it was supposed to be released on Nov. 19, too).

Adele’s first single off the upcoming album, “Easy on Me,” will come out this Friday, October 15.
