Anthony Mackie Closes Deal to Star in Captain America 4

Anthony Mackie Captain America

There’s a new captain in town, as Anthony Mackie signs deal to star in Captain America 4. The actor previously starred in his own Disney series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Chris Evans might be done (for now) with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the show must go on.

As you might remember, at the end of Avengers: Endgame, Chris’ Captain America hands his shield over to Sam Wilson aka Falcon. But the character has a great destiny to fulfill, as he is to step into Captain America’s shoes, literally.

A source told Deadline that Anthony Mackie signed a deal with Disney to star in Captain America 4.

Anthony debuted in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and appeared in five Marvel movies. And his own show, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. But this would be Mackie’s first leading superhero movie.

So far, it’s unknown whether Sebastian Stan‘s journey as The Winter Soldier will continue in the next Captain America.

Head writer and creator of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Malcolm Spellman will write the script, alongside series staff writer Dalan Musson, Deadline adds.

So far, there’s no official title or announcement of the project. But, as we know already, Marvel likes to keep a lot of secrets, and they might have a lot more in store to come.
