Betty White and Ryan Reynolds have the purest friendship. In a new interview, the iconic actress joked he still “can’t get over” her. But she has her own crush.
Betty White and Ryan Reynolds co-starred in The Proposal over a decade ago. But their friendship lasted all these years, and the actor proclaims himself as a huge star of the iconic actress.
Soon, Betty White will be celebrating her 100th birthday, and everyone is invited to the party. She is a beacon of light in a dark time, and her friendship with Reynolds is just priceless.
Update: Unfortunately, the actress passed away at 99, 18 days before turning 100.
Over the years, they carried over a joke that she’s his “ex-girlfriend.” In the new edition of PEOPLE celebrating the actress, she joked: “I’ve heard Ryan can’t get over his thing for me,” she says. However, the feeling is not mutual, because White has her own celebrity crush. In the interview, she adds that “Robert Redford is The One.”
The 85-year-old actor retired from acting in 2018. Last year, for her 99th birthday, her longtime executive personal assistant, Kiersten Mikelas, got her a lifesize cutout of the actor.
For his part, Reynolds shared that been a fan of White’s “for as long as I can remember.” You might remember that one of the girls he shares with Blake Lively is also named Betty.
He added: “I heard that scripts for Golden Girls were only 35 pages, which makes sense because so many of the laughs come from Betty simply looking at her castmates.”
