A few months ago, Billie Eilish dyed her hair blonde, leaving behind her neon nuances. The 19-year-old Grammy Award winner for Best New Artists is now rocking an incredible platinum blonde. But the path to getting that look is pretty difficult.
Changing your hair to blonde is always more difficult than you’d expect. Billie learnt it the hard way herself, and revealed it took six weeks to get to that color.
“I had been wanting it blonde for a while, I don’t know what came over me.”
Which is not crazy at all. As a blonde person who deals with keeping the color as white as possible, trust me, the struggle is real.
Coming back to Billie, her hairstylist confirmed and explained why the color change took six weeks.

But, for Billie, blonde seemed like a great idea. So she needed just a small push, and she got it from the coolest direction. A fan edit.
She told Ellen DeGeneres: “I’ve been wanting blonde for a while, I don’t know what came over me. I saw a fan-edit when I had green hair, it was me with whatever color hair I had, and they edited blonde hair on me and I was like ‘Ah! So sick, I want it!’ “
“I thought of it as a dream. I didn’t think it was going to happen because my hair has been through so much. I thought I would burn it off if I tried. But I did it!”
In her latest Vogue photo shoot, Billie also underlined the importance of feeling good about yourself. And getting to platinum blonde seems to have been a great choice for her.
