There is a release date for the memoir Britney Spears wrote and it’s coming this fall. The pop superstar took to social media to reveal that her book will be out on October 24 this year. The “Toxic” singer hinted an announcement on July 10, but fans thought it might be a new single.

It’s coming… My story on my terms. At last. Are you ready?” the promotional video reads before revealing the title, The Woman in Me, and the upcoming release date.

Multiple publishing houses had a bid war, and Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, was the winner, as per PEOPLE. “Britney’s compelling testimony in open court shook the world, changed laws, and showed her inspiring strength and bravery,” Jennifer Bergstrom, Gallery Books Senior Vice President and Publisher, tells PEOPLE. “I have no doubt her memoir will have a similar impact — and will be the publishing event of the year. We couldn’t be more proud to help her share her story at last.”

“A Moving Story About Freedom”

There have been multiple documentaries about Britney and her conservatorship in the last few years. And both Britney and her husband, Sam Asghari, have publicly slammed them for her lack of involvement in their development. So, the “Oops… I Did It Again” singer decided to do something about it. So, she started writing her own book.

The upcoming memoir promises to reveal “for the first time her incredible journey (and) strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history,” according to a press release from Gallery Books. Spears’ memoir “illuminates the enduring power of music and love — and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms.”

The Woman in Me is “a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope,” the press release continues.
