Courteney Cox just opened up about her daughter Coco and her use of makeup and revealed it’s a form of self-expression. The former Friends actress joked her daughter “ruined the bathroom 1000 times” while dying her hair.
Former Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow took it to social media to wish her son, Julian, a happy birthday. But she’s not the only Friends star who likes to brag about her daughter on social media.
Courteney Cox, unlike Lisa, is not so private about her daughter Coco.
Courteney got pregnant while filming the tenth and final season of Friends. While her character, Monica Geller Bing, had trouble conceiving and just managed to adopt a baby, Courteney was already pregnant. They tried to cover her belly bump with loose clothing, but fans could see it.
Courteney shares daughter Coco with actor David Arquette. The two got married in 1999, and welcomed Coco in 2004. They have since separated, filing for divorce in 2012 after a separation of almost two years.
Courteney shares a lot of videos of her daughter. On Mother’s Day, she celebrated singing with Coco, who was showcasing her talent with a cover of Taylor Swift‘s “Cardigan.”
During her interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, the Cougar Town actress, 56, talked about Coco, 16, and her love for makeup and dying her hair. Just like a lot of other 16-year-olds, really.
“People will say, ‘Why do you let Coco wear so much makeup?’ She’s been wearing makeup forever, that is a self-expression for her. She loves to dress up. She will dye her hair, it was purple a week ago, I think right now it’s blonde underneath before it was blue.”
Courteney also joked that Coco dyes her hair so often that “we’ve ruined the bathroom 1,000 times.” “I tell her, ‘Please, put down garbage bags.’ She didn’t get the neat gene from me, that’s for sure.”
But Courteney wants only the best for Coco. “I think we just have to let them be themselves with boundaries, of course. I am not great at boundaries.”
