Courtney Love chose a very meaningful song for her next cover on social media, Britney Spears‘ Lucky. The former Hole singer took the song, and completely changed it.
Britney Spears is going through a difficult time, and the world is beginning to notice. A lot of celebrities spoke up and showed their support. Others, allegedly, are reaching out with legal support.
Now Courtney Love showed her own way to support Britney, and performed her song, “Lucky”.
“Lucky” is the story of a huge Hollywood star, who seemingly has everything, but there’s something missing. Despite all the awards and recognition, Lucky still cries when she’s alone at night.
Now Courtney found the perfect Britney song to play at the current time.
She says at the beginning of the video, where she rocks pink hair: “Someone asked me what song I was going to cover next. I don’t have a guitar player handy, so yeah. It’s written by one of those fantastic old Swedish people — gentleman — and it’s got like B-sharp 7th. I don’t know that s—. OK, let’s just try it.”
She took Britney’s ballad and changed it completely to fit her genre. And it’s amazing. Fans immediately complimented Courtney, and Britney’s fans were ecstatic over her support.
Written by Max Martin, Rami Yacoub and Alexander Kronlund, “Lucky” peaked at No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2000. It’s off Britney’s second album, Oops!.. I Did It Again.
