In late October 2021, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez revealed they were expecting twins. The two were already parents to daughter Alana, whom they welcomed in 2017.

The soccer player captioned the announcement: “Delighted to announce we are expecting twins. Our hearts are full of love – we can’t wait to meet you #blessed.“

Unfortunately, things didn’t seem to have gone smoothly for the couple. As Georgina gave birth, unfortunately, one of the babies didn’t survive.

It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel,” their joint statement started. It continued: “Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some love and happiness.

The two add: “We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support.
The statement ends: “We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you, Cristiano Ronaldo & Georgina Rodriguez.”

They didn’t give further information on why the baby boy passed away.

Besides his daughter, he is also father to son Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, and twins Eva and Mateo, whom he welcomed via surrogacy.

They recently moved to the UK after Ronaldo started his new season with Manchester United, after leaving Juventus this year.
