There are exciting things coming next in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Just because Phase 4 ended with some of our favorite characters gone, it doesn’t mean that the show won’t go on.
Marvel has quite a lot planned for the future, and a lot of our favorite characters will return for more adventures.
But Dave Bautista, who plays Drax, announced that he is almost at the end of his journey, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be his last movie in the MCU.
Dave Bautista has given us so many laughs since he appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy. That’s when he wasn’t standing so still you couldn’t see him.
Production for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. is expected to start in October, but Dave is bracing himself for the “bittersweet” end.
In an interview with PEOPLE, he shared: “I don’t know if they’ll move forward with the character or with Guardians at all [after Guardians 3]. I’ll probably have to do a table read but they would really even have to force me to do that. I like going in with no expectations, you know, because I’m a fan.”
He added: “That will be the end of my Drax journey.”
But Dave has only good things to say about his time playing Drax. “It’s been a hell of a journey with this cast and Guardians and the whole Marvel Universe. I feel like it really launched my career. And I’m kind of wrapping up that part of my journey, so it’s very much a bittersweet thing.”
