Demi Lovato is saying goodbye to “Melon Cake.” In their new music video, the singer is embracing a new life where they’re allowed to eat real cake.
Demi Lovato’s new song has a lot of meaning. Celebrities often do a lot to stay in shape, and look as fantastic as they do. Obviously, in front of the camera, few of them share their extreme diets, and often claim they eat everything.
It wasn’t any different with Demi Lovato.
But in their new music video for “Melon Cake,” Demi Lovato is embracing a different side of t “heir insecurities.”
Talking about the meaning of the music video, the singer shared that, for past birthdays, Demi only ate watermelon instead of real cakes to avoid gaining weight.
But now they’re over that, as they celebrated their 29th birthday.
In a press statement, Demi shared: “The song is me saying goodbye to melon cake. It was a big step for me, and I wanted to celebrate it.”
“I made this song to kind of stand up for myself and against my inner insecure feelings that I had when I used to want to eat birthday cake but was too afraid to. I want it to be all about body acceptance, body positivity and just being able to make choices for yourself.”
They added: “The music video is kind of a representation of more of who I am today. I’m a very colorful, fluid, free and open person, and I want you to see that.”
