There’s a new magical adventure upcoming as Disney premiered the first trailer for Encanto. The new animation shows a village where everyone is magical – but one.
Disney has a new animation in store for us this year, and Encanto has given us a very magical trailer. The movie is set in a small, magical village in Columbia, where all the residents have magic powers.
All but one.
The Madrigals are a wonderful family with the most unique members, living in a house called Encanto (“Charm” from Spanish). Each child has a magical power, whether it’s strength to lift heavy objects, magic for amazing pink, flowery decorations, or the ability to change their appearance. But one member of their family has none of that. Maribel is an ordinary child in a marvelous family, having to live up to their expectations.
But then Maribel discovers that the village’s magic is under threat, and she might be the only one to save it.
Encanto stars Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s Stephanie Beatriz, who describes her character as “a really funny, loving character who also deeply years for something more.” Stars like María Cecilia Botero, Wilmer Valderrama, Adassa, Diane Guerrero, Mauro Castillo, Angie Cepeda, Jessica Darrow, Rhenzy Feliz and Carolina Gaitan are also part of the cast.
It also has Lin-Manuel Miranda in charge of creating the most magical music. Miranda has also previously contributed to Disney’s Moana and starred in Mary Poppins Returns.
The movie premieres on November 24.
