Ed Sheeran has just tested positive for Covid-19, the singer revealed on Instagram. That comes less than a week before the release of his album =.
The British singer has taken a long time off music after finishing his ÷ tour. But ever since this spring, he’s been back at work, promoting and performing.
Now that we’re getting closer to the release of his fourth studio album, = (reads Equals), Ed Sheeran announced he tested positive for Covid-19.
The singer shared he is currently self-isolating, and will not be doing any in-person commitments. However, he shared he will be trying to honor his commitments from Zoom, probably.
He wrote: “Hey guys. Quick note to tell you that I’ve sadly tested positive for Covid, so I’m now self-isolating and following government guidelines. It means that I’m now unable to plough ahead with any in person commitments for now.”
Sheeran added: “so I’ll be doing as many of my planned interviews/performances I can from my house. Apologies to anyone I’ve let down. Be safe everyone x.”
Ed Sheeran hasn’t specifically mentioned that he’s vaccinated, but I assume he is. During his residency on The Late Late Show with James Corden, he sang a modified version of “Shape of You,” the pandemic version.
Among the lyrics were: “Moderna or Pfizer will do/ You’ll be good after jab number two/ But wait two weeks for it to take effect/ It doesn’t fit the song but it’s important.”
