Ed Sheeran has confirmed his new collaboration with Taylor Swift for his song “The Joker and the Queen,” off his latest album.
Ever since Ed Sheeran released his latest album, = (reads Equals), there have been rumors about a collaboration with Taylor Swift. The two have been singing together for years, their first release being “Everything Has Changed,” off Red, which became a single.
This year, as Taylor released her re-recorded version of Red, she added that the first song they’ve actually written together was “Run.” It is now on the new version, and it serves as a From the Vault track.
The two have previously worked together for “End Game,” off reputation.

Now, they will be collaborating again for “The Joker and the Queen.” Sheeran confirmed the news on social media, writing: “The Joker And The Queen featuring my good friend @taylorswift13 is out this Friday. Link in bio to pre-order or pre-save it x”
It doesn’t really come as a surprise, because he’s been hinting the collaboration with an “American artist” for a while. And it couldn’t have been anyone else. The original ballad does not include a collaboration on the album.
