Late last year, Elliot Page came out as a transgender. In a new interview with Oprah Winfrey, for the first time, Elliot Page embraces his true self, and shares he’s finally “able to exist.”
In a moving post, Elliot came out as trans. He also shared how lucky he felt to finally write that, and admit his true self to the world. It took a long time, but he admitted that it “remarkable” it felt to finally be who he was meant to be.
Now he just had an interview with Oprah, where Elliot Page embraced his true self. He hopes the interview will help combat the “misinformation and lies” when it comes to anti-trans legislation.
In the snippet, Elliot says his reasons to sit down for the interview. He started: “I wanted to talk about it for a couple of reasons. I wanted to share with people just how much it has changed my life. And I want people to know that not only has it been life changing for me, I do believe it is life saving and it’s the case for so many people… and because there is such an attack on trans health care right now, when already there is such a lack of access or trans people who don’t even want to go to the doctor.”
He also spoke about being his true self n a clip E! News posted. Elliot revealed: “It’s, you know, getting out of the shower and the towel’s around your waist, and you’re looking at yourself in the mirror, and you’re just like, ‘There I am.’ And I’m not having the moment where I’m panicked. I’m not having all these little moments that used to be… Just being in a T-shirt. It’s being able to touch my chest and feel comfortable in my body for probably the first time.”
The interview will debut this Friday on Apple TV+.
