Lockdown was a difficult time for everyone. While we’re still struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic, some people did take advantage of their time at home. Some learned a new skill, some relaxed and took care of their mental health. Others, kept working and working.

For artists, lockdown proved to be more creative than ever. Taylor Swift wrote two albums (Folklore and Evermore), the first already winning Album of the Year at the Grammys.

It looks like Elton John couldn’t just stay around, either. The artist announced his upcoming 16-track record on Wednesday (1 September).

He wrote on Twitter: “The last thing I expected to do during lockdown was make an album but here it is. Thank you to everyone who came together to make it happen. I can’t wait for you all to hear ‘The Lockdown Sessions’ when it’s released on 22 October, but for now, preorder it from today.”

He also revealed the track list. It includes collaborations with Dua Lipa, Young Thug, Nicki Minaj, Charlie Puth, Rina Sawayama, Gorillaz, Years & Years, Miley Cyrus, Brandi Carlile, Lil Nas X, Stevie Wonder, Stevie Nicks and Glen Campbell.
