Drake has just dropped his new album, and fans are now making fun of him for sharing he’s a “lesbian” in a new song “Girls Want Girls.” Apparently he doesn’t actually understand the concept.
Drake just released his new album, Certified Lover Boy, on Friday (September 3). Since he never shared when he intended to drop the album, could it be he was just waiting for Kanye West to do it first?
Kanye released his highly anticipated album, Donda, less than a week ago, and now Drake follows.
Fans have now 21 new songs from Drake, but they’re already over-analyzing the lyrics.
And one of them is now going viral on social media. In the song “Girls Want Girls,” which is a featuring with Lil Baby, Drake shows he might not actually understand the concept of a lesbian. In the song, Drake raps the line: “Starin’ at your dress ’cause it’s see through / Yeah, talkin’ all the s–t that you done been through / Yeah, say that you a lesbian, girl, me too.”
People weren’t actually thrilled with the lyric, and many of them think he could have skipped the song, and not add it to his new album. Given the fact that, oftentimes, LGBTQ+’s rights are not taken seriously, Drake’s use of the word in the song doesn’t show any support. In fact, it adds to the problem.
It’s 2021, Drake. Get with the times.
