Gossip Girl Reveals Identity In First Episode – Fans React (Spoilers)

HBO Max

Fans have a lot to say about the fact that Gossip Girl revealed their identity in the first episode. The reboot’s first episode just aired on HBO Max, and it might not be the success the network thought.

If you haven’t watched the new Gossip Girl yet, and you plan to, there will be some spoilers ahead. So read only if you don’t mind spoilers.

The new reboot for the fan-favorite show has just debuted its first episode, and the critics aren’t that thrilled about it.

The new Gossip Girl promises just as much drama, but with more diversity. But can it fill the shoes of Leighton Meester, Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Chase Crawford and co?

It’s certainly too early to tell, but fans aren’t thrilled.

Gossip Girl changed its ways and revealed their identity in the first episode. Unlike the original, where we had to wait until the end to find out it was actually Dan Humphrey, in the new show we know from the start.

Original fans might remember that the producers had the same idea for the original, and there were a lot of hints initially leading to the fact that Dan was, actually, Gossip Girl.

In the premiere episode, Julien (Jordan Alexander) is put front and center as the new Queen B. During the episode, one of the teachers, Kate Keller (Tavi Gevinson) bumps into Julien and her friends. They start to mock her.

So Kate Keller proceeds in setting up a Twitter account as Gossip Girl. That fails, but they end up moving to Instagram. But, unlike the original, here it seems like it takes a village to take on the rich kids. So all the teachers start to work as Gossip Girl, and write incriminating facts about their students.

Do you think it’s a good idea to find out Gossip Girl’s identity in the first episode? Some fans disagreed.

There were some fans who actually found it clever:
