Taylor Swift has just released her music video for “Lavender Haze” and it obviously includes a series of Easter eggs, as you might expect.

“Lavender Haze” now joins “Anti-Hero” and “Bejeweled” as Midnights‘ third official single with a music video. Back when she announced the album, Taylor explained that lavender haze was a 1950s phrase to express the feeling of being in love.

And the music video does reflect that. Swift announced the music video on Thursday, January 26, inviting her to join her, well, at midnight. Since the song starts with “Meet me at midnight” and all.

And “Lavender Haze” also includes ample Easter eggs, as you might expect from the singer-songwriter. But it also comes with the amazingly enticing visuals in shades of lavender.

Swift explained on social media after the video’s release that the video served as a mood board for the album. “This was the first video I wrote out of the 3 that have been released, and this one really helped me conceptualize the world and mood of Midnights, like a sultry sleepless 70’s fever dream. Hope you like it,” she wrote.

The first one, whwich is an obvious one, is the clock striking midnight. Which references both her latest album and the opening lyric for “Lavender Haze,” which serves as track one: “meet me at midnight.”

Later, we move on to a “Mastermind” record, which might be a potential hint at the next single from Midnights, or just to refer her partner, Joe Alwyn, as the album art seems to include constellations of both her star sign, Sagittarius, aligning with Alwyn’s star sign of Pisces.

Followed by a mention of the second track, “Maroon,” which shows an incense burning. The song starts with “when the morning came we were cleaning incense off your vinyl shelf.

The clock puff of smoke: It might be a reference to Alice in Wonderland’s caterpillar and the clock imagery she has used to promote Midnights.

The koi fish: the entire music video gives Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) vibes since it’s fully purple, the album’s color. But the koi fish also reference the stickers she had on her guitar during the Speak Now tour.

There’s also a reference to “Midnight Rain” as she watches the weather report, with a 13 over Nashville, her home and also Michigan.

The weather man in the report is also Swift’s love interest in the music video, Laith Ashley. This might be a hint to a lyric from “Karma,” “Karma is the guy on the screen, coming straight home to me.”

There also seems to be a subtle hint at her reputation album, as she wears the same fluffy jacket from the “End Game” music video.

Is there any other Easter egg we missed? Let us know in the comments.
