Prime Video‘s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power first look is here. And, known as the most expensive production yet, it looks amazing.
Years back, it was announced that Prime Video acquired the rights for a The Lord of the Rings prequel. And, since the company doesn’t go halfway, it decided to make it the most expensive production. Ever.
It took quite a while to get everything settled, but now we have the first look at Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and it looks great.
The one-minute first look at the upcoming series opens with the camera moving through what look like canyons filled with mist. Then, a fire covers the canyon in a river of molten lava. A voiceover says: “Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, nine for Mortal Men, doomed to die.” A wave of water then follows over the molten lava, cooling it as stem is released. “One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne in the Land of Mordor, where the Shadows lie.”
Later we see that the molten lava created a metal with symbols on one side, before revealing a ring.
The Rings of Power will premiere on September 22, 2022.
