Update: TS10 IS COMING and it’s called Midnights. Taylor Swift has proven to be the master of planning, Easter eggs and lies about “not a lot going on at the moment.” But fans have a lot of theories of a sister album to Grammy Award winner for Album of the Year Folklore and Evermore. So is Taylor Swift planning TS10?
Let’s get down to theories. When it comes to laying Easter eggs, Taylor Swift thinks she’s the best. And she is, don’t get me wrong. She’s the greatest artist who goes to so much trouble to create a fun experience for the fans. But her followers, commonly known as Swifties, are resourceful.
Taylor started the “not a lot going on at the moment trend” a year ago, when she had, in fact, a lot going on. It’s a reference to a t-shirt she wore in her “22” music video, and she keeps posting that when she has something under her sleeve.
But why do fans think she has a new album coming up?
Let’s get real, Taylor is in the midst of re-recording her albums so she can own her own masters. She has released Fearless (Taylor’s Version), who became number 1, because that’s what she does. But she has five more to go. But is Taylor Swift planning TS10?
However, fans can’t shake it off. Back after she released Folklore in mid-2020, fans noticed the word “Woodvale” written in the cover. Considering none her albums have the actual title on the cover, fans think this is a clue. After Evermore came as “Folkore‘s sister album,” fans were sure this was a trilogy, with one more to come.
Clever fans discovered many clues that Taylor might make an announcement (or drop a new album) on April 30. For example, the clock in the “Cowboy Like Me” showed 4:30, which could be April 30.
Furthermore, Taylor released Evermore 140 days after Folklore. And 140 days after Evermore, is April 30. Fans also noticed the use of three emojis in all her recent posts. Aaron Dessner, who worked on her on both albums, also tweeted a Happy Birthday Cardigan using three emojis. She also released merch for Folklore and Evermore with two colors, red, blue and green. With Folklore having green as theme, and Evermore red, where is the blue?
In an interview, Taylor shut down the theory, claiming “Woodvale” was just a codename for Folklore. But since then, fans have been speculating on when her next album will arrive. They also thought Tay might announce it with her 500th Instagram post, but she cleared another theory – the disappearance of her cat, Meredith.
Fans have really been stuck on one of Taylor’s recent tweets. As she celebrated Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’s success, she claimed she’s in the studio record. Not re-recording.
Been in the studio all day recording the next one – it’s really so amazing what you all have done here. 🙏🙏🙏 https://t.co/rxa5njMn0z
