Jada Pinkett Smith shared an unreleased Tupac Shakur‘s poem to celebrate his would-have-been 50th birthday. Jada shared a video on Instagram Tuesday night ahead of the Tupac’s 50th birthday.
Jada shared a handwritten poem titled “Lost Soulz” that he gave her. Jada and Tupac grew up together, and that relationship has had a huge impact on her. She still remembers him, and speaks highly of him.
Her husband of over two decades, Will Smith, shared he felt intimidated by their relationship. He shared: “That was in the early days. And it was like… that was a big regret for me too cause I could never open up to interact with Pac. You know, we had a little bit of a thing because they grew up with each other. “
Will continued: “They loved each other but they never had a sexual relationship. But they had come into that age where that was a possibility and then Jada was with me. So, Pac had a little thing on that. But she just loved him. He was the image of perfection but she was with the Fresh Prince. We were in the room together a couple times, I couldn’t speak to him. And he wasn’t gon’ speak to me if I wasn’t going to speak to him.”
Now Jada shared a poem Tupac wrote as she “went down memory lane” and looked back on the “many letters and many poems” Shakur sent to her.
Jada said: “I don’t think this one has ever been published… I don’t think he would have minded that I shared this with you guys.”
Jada captioned the video: “Tupac Amaru Shakur would have been 50 midnight tonight!
As we prepare to celebrate his legacy … let’s remember him for that which we loved most … his way with words. Here are a few you may have never heard before✨ Happy “you goin’n to be 50 at midnight” Birthday Pac! 😆 I got next😜
P.s I was planning to post tomorrow which is why the video says today is Pac’s bday. But I decided to start earlyyyyy✨”
