Jenna Dewan opened up in a new interview about the moment she met her current fiancé, Steve Kazee. The actress and dancer shared the two had a “moment” when they first met.

Jenna Dewan doesn’t waste a moment to show how grateful she is for her fiance, Steve Kazee. We know the actress from Step Up, when her chemistry with Channing Tatum was off the charts. Which was what got them to start dating, get married, and have a kid.

Jenna and Channing got divorced a few years ago, and she has been dating Tony Award winner Steve Kazee ever since. They also share son Callum, born in March 2020.

In a new interview for her cover story for TheKnot, Jenna Dewan opened up about how she met Steve Kazee, and how it was “kind of fate.”

Jenna said: “About nine years ago, I happened to be in New York, so I took my mom to see Once on Broadway. We cried our eyes out and fell in love with the show—in particular, the lead actor, Steve Kazee. We thought he was just so talented. And funnily enough, my mom had the biggest crush—she couldn’t stop saying, “he’s the cutest, so sensitive, so handsome.” She just kept going on and on.”

She continued: “So I said, “let’s wait for him at the stage door so you can say hi.” So we did. We waited for a few minutes, and he appeared. I was pushing her forward to say hi, and Steve and I just had one of those eye-catching moments. It was very quick, but it struck us both. It was a moment.”

Jenna added: “My mom and I told him what a great job he did and how it was such an amazing show, and that was it. We both went off into the night. But I never forgot the moment. Life went on, as it does. Many years later, we were in different situations. I was single again, he was single. He messaged me and said something like, “Hey, I don’t know if you remember me, but how are you?” And I was floored. Of course I remembered him. And that moment in 2012. And it was just kind of fate—it was totally meant to be.”

But Jenna wasn’t the only one for whom that moment met something. For Valentine’s Day, Steve also wrote a sweet message where he mentioned the moment they met: “Here you are on the day we met. It was September in New York so many years ago. 2012 to be exact. You were married and I was in a relationship that was on its way out. Our first hello couldn’t have lasted for more than 3 minutes but it changed my whole life and I had no idea.”
