Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki took it to social media to celebrate the first anniversary of the last day of filming on Supernatural. Jensen also noted a fun coincidence with his new upcoming show.
Supernatural ran for an impressive amount of time – 15 seasons on air on The CW. The show, focused on two brothers, Sam and Dean, who fought monsters for a living.
But Supernatural was more than that. The fans, called Supernatural Family, found a solace in the fandom, and the main actors created special bonds with the fans with every occasion.
Thanks to the show, many families are now happily married. Jared, for instance, met his wife, Genevive Padalecki, on set in the show’s fourth season. They now share three children, two boys, and a girl.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who starred on the show as John Winchester, also met Hilarie Burton through Jensen’s wife, Danneel Ackles.
Jensen and Jared have also been incredibly close, like brothers, in real life, sharing anniversaries, weddings, and birthdays together. Now Jared and Jensen celebrated the first anniversary of the last day of filming on Supernatural.
Jared wrote, alongside a selfie with his wrapper around Jensen’s shoulders: “#FlashbackFriday to one year ago today… when I said goodbye to character, and a show, that i dearly loved (and, STILL love)… our last filming day of #supernatural… I will never be able to put into words what my time with #SamWinchester gave me.
More importantly, I’ll never be able to put into words what the relationships that were built STILL mean to me.
I guess I’ll stick to tried-and-true. Thank you. Miss y’all. @jensenackles#spnfamily”
To his message, Jensen replied: “My brother. ❤️”
But the actor himself had something to share. In a video, he noted how both Supernatural, and his upcoming appearance on The Boys, ended filming on September 10.
