Joe Jonas is trying to become a Bridgerton ahead of the show’s second season. Unfortunately, he fails, but in a funny way.
People have been pointing out that Joe Jonas looks like he’s from the Bridgerton family, and he didn’t need more to get into the spirit.
In a new commercial for Tanqueray gin, the Jonas brother gets a few tips from season two’s main character, Jonathan Bailey, who plays Anthony Bridgerton.
The video, called “It’s not teatime. It’s T-Time,” shows Joe taking some simple lessons from Bailey. Which he perfectly fails.
Calling himself “Joseph Jonas the First,” the singer gets a call from the actor, who instructs him on some basic rules.
With help from “The Queen,” played by comedian Phoebe Robinson, he tries his best to look as sophisticated as the Bridgertons.
The first advice is to look “fancy.” Which… eh. Joe Jonas’ walk looks too, um, modern for the Bridgerton era, but, hey, he does look modern-fancy.
The second one includes advice on sipping. But he will not be putting up with all the non-sense, and drank some Tanqueray gin, without keeping his pinky in the air.
Step three, naturally, involves dancing. Which the famous Jonas doesn’t master. At all. But at least he’s having a lot of fun.
The result? Jonathan agrees that he could be a “really distant, estranged cousin.” Which Joe takes it as a compliment.
Given that Joe failed to be a Bridgerton, Bailey does add that he could be a Jonas brother. Jon Jonas, if you will.
The video comes almost a week ahead of the show’s second season premiere. Bridgerton‘s season two, with Anthony as main character, premieres on Netflix on March 25.
