Hollywood manager Scooter Braun seems to be experiencing some karma, four years after the scandal surrounding Taylor Swift‘s masters, as Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and more stars drop him as a manager.

Ariana Grande is following in Demi Lovato’s footsteps and has just dropped Scooter Braun as her manager. Braun is one of the most famous talent managers in Hollywood, and owner of SB Projects. The 42-year-old entrepreneur got his big break when he discovered Justin Bieber.

Now, he’s experiencing some karma as a lot of his artists are dropping him, four years after the scandal surrounding Taylor Swift’s masters. He reportedly purchased Big Machine Records without giving Swift the opportunity to buy her masters for her fist six albums. He later sold her master recordings to an investment company.

Ariana has been with Braun for the entirety of her music career. However, she hasn’t released a new album in three years, and she has been busy filming the film adaptation of Wicked. Meanwhile, Demi Lovato signed with him in 2019, and has a new album almost ready for release.

Both Grande and Lovato made the announcement the same day. There is no official reason for their departure at the moment.

A source told Billboard that it was “time for Lovato to go in a new direction, even though she was thankful for her time with SB Projects.” Variety also said the two parties severed ties “amicably.”

Demi and Ariana Aren’t the Only Ones Leaving Scooter Braun

One of the first artists to leave Braun was Columbian singer J Balvin, who was with him since 2019. He ended their collaboration in May. He is now working with Roc Nation.

Some sources claimed Justin Bieber is no longer working with Braun, either. However, other insides debunked those claims.

Kanye West was also one of Scooter’s clients, but he severed ties in 2018. “I no longer have a manager. I can’t be managed, I am nobody’s client,” he tweeted at the time.

Usher was also linked to SB Projects, but he’s not on the current roster on SB Projects’ website, as well as DJ Martin Garrix and band Rixton.

In 2014, Scooter signed K-pop superstar CL, but he revealed in July 2023 that he is no longer managing her.
