The first trailer for Lady Gaga‘s upcoming film, House of Gucci, is here. Ridley Scott‘s upcoming movie seems as thrilling as ever, with the best outfits and a star-studded cast.
The movie will focus on the true story crime-drama around the murder of fashion trailblazer Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), orchestrated by his wife at the time, Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga).
The trailer opens up with Lady Gaga’s Regianni saying, in a pretty natural Italian accent: “It was a name that sounded so sweet, so seductive, synonymous with worth, style, power, but that name was a curse, too.”
The star-studded cast includes Academy Award winners Al Pacino and Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, and Academy Award nominees Salma Hayek and Driver.
Ridley Scott is back at the helm. The director seems to show there’s no genre he can’t master, and this one surely looks like it’ll be a hit. He also produced the movie. For the script, Roberto Bentivegna collaborated with Becky Johnson, and it’s based on Sara Gay Forden‘s book, The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed.
Patrizia and Maurizio’s relationship in the movie seems to portray a pretty twisted love story, which culminates with his murder. His wife was convicted of orchestrating his death after he had an affair. She spent 18 years in prison, where she became known as the “Black Widow.” Patrizia was released in 2016.
The trailer also ends with one of her quotes, saying: “I don’t consider myself to be a particularly ethical person. But I am fair.”
House of Gucci premieres in theaters November 26.
