Glee star Lea Michele hopped on social media to honor Cory Monteith on the 10th anniversary of his death with a heartwarming tribute.
It’s been a decade since Cory Monteith’s unexpected death. The Glee actor passed away at the age of 31 and was found dead at Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel.
“We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate,” his rep confirmed in a statement following the news. “We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss.”
Now Lea Michele has taken to social media to pay tribute to Cory Monteith, her former boyfriend. The pair played Rachel Berry and Finn Hudson on the FOX hit Glee. They started dating in 2012 until his unexpected death.
Michele has been sharing tributes to her former flame for years and this time wasn’t an exception. She shared a black and white picture of the two. “Hey you. 10 years.”
“It feels like only yesterday that you were here and yet a million years ago all at the same time. I hold all of our memories in my heart where they will stay safe and never forgotten,” continued Michele, 36, in her heartwarming message.
“We miss you every day and will never forget the light you to brought to us all. I miss you big guy. I hope you found Taylor up there and are playing the drums together. 🤍,” the actress wrote and she seems to refer to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died unexpectedly in March 2022 at age 50.
Following her relationship with Monteith, she went on to date businessman Zandy Reich, with whom she got engaged in 2018. They tied the knot in 2019 and share two children.
