Lil Nas X is yet to drop his first album, but the wait is short as the rapper revealed the premiere date for his album, Montero. The artist is already a Grammy Award winner.
Lil Nas X might be only 22, but he definitely knows what he’s doing.
One of his most defining features is that he’s unapologetically himself. And he won’t let you put him in a corner.
Lil Nas X is stepping into unknown territory, as he’s officially out and the first openly gay rapper. Which has not been difficult at all. The rapper received three times more backlash for his creativity than your regular folk.
But he’s pushing forward.
Lil Nas X announced his debut album, Montero, and revealed a wonderfully colorful cover art work, with him floating in the middle, naked, with a full rainbow circle behind him.
While the aesthetics of it all are just the perfect opposite of his “Call Me By Your Name (Montero)” music video, it seems totally in line with his overall persona.
The rapper referred to his album as “therapy” in the announcement for his album.
He wrote: “creating this album has been therapy for me. i’ve learned to let go of trying to control people’s perception of who i am, what i can do, and where i will be. i’ve realized the only opinion of me that really matters is my own.”
The album will drop on September 17, 2021, and he will announce the track list tomorrow.
