Lil Nas X might be going full pro as he just had a lesson with Tony Hawk. The rapper showed off his new skills on Instagram with a fun video.
A few days ago, famous skater Tony Hawk announced he will be dropping a special skateboard line – one that includes his blood.
Hawk actually donated his blood as part of a collaboration with water company Liquid Death to produce 100 skateboards at $500 each — and they’ve already sold out.
“Yes, there is actually @tonyhawk’s real blood in these skateboards. And yes, we sterilized it first. Own your very own piece of the Birdman today,” reads a social media post from Liquid Death Tuesday.
But Lil Nas X called out everyone for the backlash he received when he released a controversial pair of “Satan Shoes” featuring a bronze pentagram, an inverted cross and a drop of real human blood.
About this, Nas wrote on Aug 25: “now that tony hawk has released skateboards with his blood painted on them, and there was no public outrage, are y’all ready to admit y’all were never actually upset over the blood in the shoes? and maybe u were mad for some other reason?”
There’s no bad blood between him and Hawk, of course. But Lil Nas X seems to have a lot of reason to ask the real question.
Given that the 22-year-old Grammy Award winner is encountering so much pushback due to his public persona has nothing to do with the actual blood, and white man Tony Hawk just proved it.

In the fun footage, Lil Nas X prepares to skate, standing at the top of a half-pipe, wearing a black t-shirt and matching helmet paired with his “Satan Nikes.” He switches to Tony Hawk, proving his awesome skills.
