M. Night Shyamalan‘s new movie Old has just debuted its final trailer. The new trailer doesn’t make more sense than the previous teaser, but one thing is for sure: it’s creepy.
The Old final trailer debuts perfectly: with a nice family who are in dire need of a vacation. Sounds familiar, COVID-19 mates? After all the lockdowns, Old shows us the perfect beach: away, with great blue sea and sand, and chill.
But it doesn’t last long.
The happy family soon meets a few other couples who are there to treat themselves. But as the children go around playing in the sand, they find a lot of items that seemed forgotten.
Quickly, the moods change, and you can’t even understand what’s going on.
The family’s kids have gone from children to teenagers. The child, who is initially played by Thomasin McKenzie changes into Alex Wolff, seemingly aging 10 or 15 years in just a few minutes.
M. Night Shyamalan’s Old is based on Pierre Oscar Levy graphic novel with the same name. In the novel, the beach is infected with some sort of virus or curse that makes everything grow old faster.
The cast includes Gael García Bernal, Vicky Krieps, Rufus Sewell, Ken Leung, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Abbey Lee, Aaron Pierre, Kathleen Chalfant, Alexa Swinton, Nolan River, Kylie Begley, Embeth Davidtz, Eliza Scanlen, and Emun Elliott.
Old opens on July 23, 2021.
