Will Ferrell is one of the big names starring in the new Barbie movie, and he is not a Ken, like the rest of them. Instead, he stars as the Mattel CEO.

Barbie has finally hit theaters on July 21st and it already became a huge success. It opened to a record-breaking $155 million, surpassing its famous competitor, Oppenheimer, which has an $80 million debut.

With Margot Robbie playing a dreamlike Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken (among many other Barbie and Kens), the two are a true dream team.

But there is more to the movie than just Barbies. For example, Will Ferrell is also part of the Barbie movie, parodying Mattel CEO Ynon Kreiz.

Now Mr. Kreiz addressees Ferrell’s portrayal of an unnamed fictionalized, somewhat villainous CEO of the real Mattel company when speaking to Variety.

“I’m a big fan of Will, ever since the ‘Zoolander’ days. There are so many elements of humor and self-deprecation in the movie. And we embrace that. We take our brands very seriously. We take what we do very seriously. But we don’t take ourselves too seriously,” he shared.

The pinkified film follows Barbie (Robbie) on her quest to find meaning in life amid an existential crisis, leaving her safe, plastic realm of Barbieland for the real world.

Barbie has been critically acclaimed since its premiere and it currently sits at 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, with an audience score also of 90%. Meanwhile, on IMDb, it has a score of 7.6/10.
