Michelle Yeoh has finally said “I do” after a 19-year engagement with former Ferrari CEO Jean Todt. Her gold Oscar statuette was also a part of it.
Michelle Yeoh just can’t stop winning. This year, she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once. She has also just gotten married after a very long engagement.
After 19 years of engagement, Michelle Yeoh and French motor racing executive Jean Todt finally tied the knot.
According to the program from their wedding, held in Geneva, Switzerland, Yeoh, 60, and Todt, 77, first met in Shanghai in June 2004. It didn’t take long for Todt to realize she was the one, because “on 26th July 2004, JT. proposed to M.Y. and she said YES!“
The two lived a happy life without worrying about paperwork. She previously said that “A piece of paper doesn’t change it for me,” in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. They finally decided to tie the knot now.
“Today after 6992 days on 27th July 2023 in Geneva, surrounded by loving family and friends, we are so happy to celebrate this special moment together!” the program read.
Yeoh hopped on social media to confirm the wedding, writing, “19 years and YES!! we are married!! Thkq to our ‘families’ who love us for all these years . We love you and here’s to many more to come.“
Veteran Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa shared a look at the ceremony even before the newly weds did. He wrote, “Happy marriage #JeanTodt & #michelleyeoh love you so much.”
The pictures also seem to show that her gold Oscar statuette was a part of the ceremony. As it should.
Todt also commented on his new marriage in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “Now that my other son @MassaFelipe19 has « discreetly » spread the good news, I can happily confirm the union with the Love of my life, Michelle,” Todt tweeted.
