Harry Styles has seldom been compared to the likes of Mick Jagger or David Bowie. That doesn’t have to do much with his writing or singing, but his eccentric persona. But The Rolling Stones member dismisses any comparison, claiming there’s a “superficial resemblance.”
Harry Styles is here to stay. And he’s getting more and more successful. The former One Direction star has released his third solo studio album, “Harry’s House,” and he’s unstoppable. He recently headlined the 2022 Coachella, and received raving reviews.
But, ever since he started his solo career, he’s been unbelievably, undeniably himself. He wears his style with pride, never taking into account any of the bad comments. As he should. A complete role model when it comes to self-confidence and self love, the “Adore You” singer has been compared all the times with the big names of the 20th century.
Which includes Mick Jagger or David Bowie.
But not everyone agrees with that. And the Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger only sees a “superficial” resemblance between him and Harry Styles.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, Jagger gave his take on the comparisons between himself and Harry Styles.
Although the rock star, 78, initially admitted he likes the “As It Was” singer, 28, and that they have an “easy relationship,” Jagger added he doesn’t think they actually have many musical or artistic similarities.
“I mean, I used to wear a lot more eye make-up than him,” Jagger said. “Come on, I was much more androgynous.“
The vocalist added about the former One Directioner, “He doesn’t have a voice like mine or move on stage like me; he just has a superficial resemblance to my younger self, which is fine — he can’t help that.”
Over the years, Styles has declared himself a big fan of Jagger. Through his career, he took inspiration from his clothes, and even doing an impression of the rock legend on Saturday Night Live.
