Miley Cyrus addressed her “undeniable” chemistry between her and her former husband, Liam Hemsworth, during the auditions of The Last Song.
One of Hollywood’s most famous couples, Miley and Liam, didn’t get their happily ever after. However, that doesn’t mean the chemistry wasn’t there. Miley Cyrus reflected on the chemistry she and ex-husband Liam Hemsworth had while filming the 2010 movie The Last Song.
The “Flowers” singer recently addressed why her and Liam’s relationship worked so well in the Nicholas Sparks movie adaptation. She also revealed that they were falling in love both on screen and in real life.
“I think one of the elements that made that movie feel so special,” she shared in a Sept. 1 TikTok, “was it was watching two very young people fall in love with each other, which was happening in real time and real life.“
Cyrus continued, “So the chemistry was undeniable, and that was the beginning of a long, 10-year relationship.”

Cyrus and Hemsworth started dating shortly after filming wrapped. The two had an on-and-off relationship for a long time, which included an engagement in 2012. They rekindled their romance and tied the knot in December 2018.
Their marriage didn’t last long, as The Hunger Games actor filed for divorce in August 2019. Their divorce was official in January 2020.
Her TikTok is part of a series of videos reflecting on her past in honor of her new single “Used To Be Young.” The singer and actress also explained how The Last Song came to be and how Liam ultimately landed the role.
“In 2008, I had to do another feature film for Disney,” she explained. “And I didn’t want it to be a part of Hannah Montana. Once we had written the screenplay, it was time to audition all the guys who would play Will, my boyfriend in the movie.“m
“And we had gotten it down from thousands to the final three,” she noted, “and Liam was a part of those three.“
