OneRepublic has been working hard through the pandemic, and released a new music video for “Someday,” and a new album, Human. The band has been releasing songs randomly for the last couple of years.
There’s a new studio album out from OneRepublic!
The band grew to fame with their hit song with Timbaland, “Apologize.” But their popularity grew also due to Ryan Tedder’s writing skills and collaborations with different successful artists like BeyoncĂ©, Adele and many others.
OneRepublic can pride themselves with many successes on their sleeve. “Counting Stars” off their album Native hit 1 billion views in November 2015. Now it has over 3 billion.
Although they are a famous band, active since 2007, OneRepublic just dropped their fifth studio album, Human. Their latest release was in 2016, with Oh My My. Back then, the band announced they will be taking some time off writing albums, and will focus on releasing songs randomly, with no pressure.
And so they did.
But the pandemic made them more creative, and each release found a new home on Human.
Talking about the new album with ET, Ryan Tedder shared the album “was probably 75 percent done” before the pandemic hit. He added: “The rest of the songs, three or four new ones, were all finished over the last five, six months. And I tried intentionally to steer as far away from COVID as possible. People want levity, they want to celebrate, they want to feel good, so I’ve tried to do that.”
Now they also have a new music video for “Someday,” with the band on a yacht, just chilling and jamming in a room together with views of sunset in the background.
The album has the same cohesive OneRepublic sound, and someday soon it will become just as big as Native or Oh My My.
The new album has 16 songs, some of them they have already released:
- Run
- Distance
- Someday
- Didn’t I
- Rescue Me
- Savior
- Take Care of You
- Somebody To Love
- Wanted
- Take It Out On Me
- Better Days
- Wild Life
- Ships + Tides
- Someday (Acoustic)
- Love Somebody
