Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shocked everyone during their televised tell-all interview with Oprah. In a new interview, Oprah admits being surprised at Meghan Markle’s revelations.
Meghan Markle had a hard time fitting into the Royal Family due to how bad the press was treating her. In a constant comparison to Kate Middleton, she always lost. Meghan struggled to do her best, but that wasn’t enough. Constantly harassed, she and her husband, Prince Harry, decided to step down as Senior Members.
But they didn’t anticipate the backlash that would follow. They claimed wanted to keep participating at different events. What they didn’t want was to be in the spotlight. Or so they said.
Following their departure from their Royal duties, the couple and their baby, Archie, moved to Canada. Then, they moved to the US. Over a month ago, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had a tell-all interview with Oprah.
During the interview, Meghan Markle shocked everyone when accused the Royal Family of racism. During the chat, she said a particular person had concerns over their baby’s skin color.
Oprah has just reflected on Meghan’s words. During a new interview, Oprah admits being surprised at Meghan Markle’s revelations. She told Nancy O’Dell: “I had no idea that it would have the reverberating impact that it has had and continues to have.”
The interview divided people even more. Lots of people continued to throw backlash at Meghan. While others showed their support amid her mental health issues.
Oprah also commented on the fact that the interview lasted 3 hours and 20 minutes. On CBS, it ran for 85 minutes. Oprah admitted it “surprised” her how open both Meghan and Harry were. She added: “The reason why it was such a powerful interview … What makes it powerful is when you have somebody else who is willing to be as open as vulnerable, as truthful as they were. The reason the interview was what it was because they answered the way they did.”
