Prime Video has a lot of big names in adaptation, and The Wheel of Time just premiered its first teaser. Fans of the beloved series seem to enjoy the first glimpse at the upcoming series.
The Wheel of Time is based on Robert Jordan’s massive, best-selling, 15-book fantasy series. Although, the last few of which were co-written by author Brandon Sanderson after Jordan’s death in 2007. However, they have a pretty big fanbase who is excited to see this come to life.
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, The Last Amazons Rafe Judkins will serve as the showrunner for the series, and called it a “connective tissue between Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones” at San Diego’s Comic Con.
The trailer gives a first glimpse at a fantasy world where only women called Aes Sedai are allowed to use magic. A powerful sorcerer called Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) arrives in a small town where she comes across three boys and two girls—Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski), Mat Cauthon (Barney Harris), Perrin Aybara (Marcus Rutherfort), Nynaeve al’Meara (Zoë Robins), Egwene al’Vere (Madeleine Madden)—one of whom she suspects might be the reincarnation of the legendary Dragon, an entity so powerful he could either save or destroy the world.
Other cast members for the show are Daniel Henney, Michael McElhatton, Álvaro Morte, Hammed Animashaun, Alexandre Willaume, Johann Myers, Jennifer Cheon Garcia, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Daryl McCormack, Narinder Samra, Priyanka Bose, Emmanuel Imani, Taylor Napier, Kate Fleetwood, Christopher Sciueref, Juliet Howland, Mandi Symonds, Lolita Chakrabarti, Michael Tuahine, David Sterne, Abdul Salisb, Stuart Graham, Kae Alexander, Sophie Okonedo, Clare Perkins, Peter Franzén, Pasha Bocarie, Jennifer K Preston, and Darren Clarke.
