Rachel Bilson Had Panic Attack After Sharing Old Photo of Rami Malek

Last month, Rachel Bilson shared an old photo on Instagram. But the #ThrowbackThursday pic included Rami Malek, then a teenager as well. After that, Rachel Bilson had a panic attack after seeing his reaction.

We all have lots of old pictures we don’t want people to see. When we go back to our looks in high school, it’s very unlikely that we’d just agree the pics on social media. But Rachel Bilson didn’t think so.

Rachel found an old pic from high school last year, where she casually hung out with Academy Award winner Rami Malek. She didn’t think twice of this, and posted the cute pic. But Rami wasn’t that pleased. Rachel revealed she had a panic attack after sharing old photo of Rami Malek. While she didn’t think twice, Rachel said Rami requested through his stylist that she delete the post.

The O.C. actress said in an episode of Dax Shepard‘s Armchair Expert podcast,: “I was like, I guess I should’ve found something more flattering. But I removed it and I even wrote to him a really nice message: ‘I’m so sorry. Go get the Oscar! You’re doing amazing.’ And I never hear anything back, which is fine. But I was super bummed because he was always so nice and we were good friends.”

Rachel said she felt humiliated after the story went viral: “I was so mortified though. Like, I was having a panic attack. I had to go to therapy that day. And I was like, ‘I am having anxiety. I did not want this to resurface in this way. I feel so bad. Oh my god. Rami is going to think I’m doing this again.’

Rachel now clears the air on the situation. In a new interview on the LadyGang podcast on April 27, Rachel explained what went down after she publicly ousted his awkward social media request.

“Rami and I actually have talked since that came out. He connected with me, and we’re all good. He, you know, was so sweet and we’re totally fine now. And we talked about it and we’re good. He was so gracious. I totally understood where he was coming from and he understood me. And I was just so happy we were able to squash it and, like, move on.”
