The Devil Wears Prada is kind of a classic now. The movie, starring Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt.

Fun fact, John Krasinski, who is married to Emily Blunt, revealed he watched the movie 70 times. He told Variety: “I’ve probably seen that movie 70 times because it’s on cable everyday like six times a day. As you’re channel surfing, you just stop every time it’s on.”

Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, and more reunited for an exclusive 15-year anniversary chat on Entertainment Weekly.

Director David Frankel revealed they struggled with the casting for a while. Anne Hathaway herself said early this year that she was the “ninth” choice, and it looks like they had a fan favorite: Rachel McAdams.

So it looks like Rachel McAdams knew probably Miranda from The Devil Wears Prada wouldn’t let her wear pink on Wednesday, so she turned the role down. Three times.

Frankel said: “We started negotiating with Annie to make a deal, and that didn’t go well with the studio.… We offered it to Rachel McAdams three times. The studio was determined to have her, and she was determined not to do it.”

For Andy’s role, the studio also considered Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Kate Hudson, and Kirsten Dunst, who, at the time, were more famous than Anne was.

But it was meant to be for Anne, and she rocked the role.  Anne said: “I patiently waited until it was my turn, and I got the call. It was the easiest yes in the world. I remember the moment I found out I got the part, I just ran screaming through my apartment. I had a bunch of friends over at the time, I just jumped up in the living room and screamed, “I’m going to be in The Devil Wears Prada!””
