Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have just celebrated her son’s first birthday and confirmed his name with everyone.
A year ago, on May 13, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky became parents for the first time. They took their time before showing off his son on social media, trying to maintain his privacy.
But, after some paparazzi took pictures of her son, Rihanna decided to stay ahead of the game and introduced him to everyone on social media in November. What she didn’t reveal, though, was his name.
A few days ago, PEOPLE obtained a copy of Rihanna and A$AP’s son’s birth certificate which showed his name and birthdate. It turns out the power couple named their firstborn RZA Athelston Mayers (pronounced “Rizza”).
A$AP confirmed it with a photo celebrating his first birthday, where she wrote, ““WU TANG IZ 4 DA CHUREN 🤲” HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO MY 1st BORN . RZA❤️“
The name pays homage to the leader of the Wu-Tang Clan, producer and rapper RZA (pronounced “Rizza”), whose real name is Robert Fitzgerald Diggs. It also honors A$AP Rocky, whose middle name is Athelaston.
The pictures the rapper shared showed the three of them in various instances, acting silly or posing for pictures. The first one in the series showed them on a blanket with pregnant RiRi kissing him on the cheek and RZA next to them.
In less than 24 hours, the post gathered over 3.6 million likes.
The singer and makeup mogul also revealed she’s expecting her second pregnancy during her Super Bowl performance in February. She didn’t reveal the gender of the second baby and we’ll probably have to wait a while before we find out their name.
