MCU star Robert Downey Jr. knows how to show appreciation for his wife, and he shared a sweet post to celebrate his 18th anniversary with Susan Downey.
There are a lot of relationships in Hollywood that do not stand the test of time. Luckily, Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, Susan Downey, are here to prove us otherwise. Downey Jr. has had a rough past but he has sure shown everyone that he could change. From drug abuse, legal issues, and even prison in his youth, RDJ left that all behind and found success in all the areas.
He became one of the most beloved and popular actors following his role as Tony Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also got a chance to star in movies like Oppenheimer, Tropic Thunder, and Zodiac.
Although his career got better after his issues, so has his love life.
On Sunday, the Iron Man actor, 58, shared two photos of him and his wife, film producer Susan Downey, 49, to mark their wedding anniversary. In both of them, Downey can be seen romantically pressing his face against Susan’s face, as she holds flowers. One of them was from the couple’s 2005 wedding, and the other recreated in the present day.
“18 years, love still in bloom!!” Downey wrote in his Instagram caption.
A number of celebs hopped in the comments to celebrate the happy couple, including Downey Jr’s MCU co-stars, Jeremy Renner and Paul Bethany.
RDJ and Susan Downey met on the set of Gothika in 2003 and started dating during production, although she turned him down twice initially.
Downey and Susan share daughter Avri, 8, and son Exton, 11, together. RDJ also shares son Indio, 29, with his first wife, actress Deborah Falconer.
