Prince George celebrates his eighth birthday today, and the Royal Family released a new portrait to celebrate the occasion. The firstborn of Kate Middleton and Prince William grins at the camera in a shot by his mom.
It seems like only yesterday Kate Middleton gave birth to her first child with Prince William. They welcomed Prince George eight years ago, but the time surely passed fast.
Eight years old is usually the age when royals in the family have stared boarding school. However, there has been no mention about this as of it. But knowing the Royal Family, and their passion for tradition, it might be what’s in store for Prince George.
To celebrate Prince Georg’s eighth birthday, the Royal Family released an official portrait of the future Heir to the throne.
Fans were delighted with the annual birthday picture. The pic quickly received over 1 million likes and more than 15,000 comments.
But there was something else fans noticed – the resemblance between Prince George and his father, Prince William.
The sweet picture, taken by mum Kate, showed Prince George smiling broadly to the camera as he sat on the bonnet of a Land Rover Defender. That seems to be a tribute to his great-grandfather the Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away earlier this year at the age of 99.
Kate has been photographing the children for years. In an interview earlier this year Kate noted that, sometimes, the children want her to stop photographing them.
Following the bullying Prince George received after the Euro 2020 final, there were rumors the family would not be releasing a portrait this year. But we’re glad they changed their minds.
